Poole Harbour is a gentle place to paddle and reasonably well protected from the effects of weather. It doesn't have the dramatic cliff coastal views but there's normally plenty of bird life. I anticipate crossing to Arne where the RSPB reserve is located, then east towards Sandbanks, perhaps lunch on Brownsea before returning to Hamworthy.
The launch site is from the beach by the Lake Pier car park where Poole Harbour Canoe Club are based, BH15 4LR, https://w3w.co/punch.badge.track, grid SY983904. The turning off Lake Drive is fairly indistinct and easily missed but careful satnav programming and monitoring when you get close is the key.
You must satisfy yourself that this trip is suitable for you, that you are sufficiently experienced, able and willing to paddle at the advertised level. For detailed guidance, see trip categorisation. If in doubt, seek guidance from the advertised leader before registering.
You must register if you intend to come. Places are restricted in an effort to maintain an acceptable leader/participant ratio. When the list is full you can still register on the waiting list and the leader will then notify you if you may join the trip. That notification may be a few days after registration.
You must bring suitable equipment or make arrangements for someone to bring it for you (eg. kayak). See what to bring.
