Introduction to paddlesports (ITP) - Schedule 3, up to 4 September

Only open to club members - please do not register for this course if you have not already joined the club.

This course is designed to take you beyond the skills required for the BCU 1 Star award, to a level suitable for you to join more experienced club members on various trips. 

This schedule of the course starts with a pool session on Monday 9 July at 8.30 pm and continues every Tuesday evening until 4 September.

The ITP course includes:

• a pool session at Kingswood School to practice capsize drills
• 8 training sessions on the Avon from the clubhouse

We also like to include two river trips (one local trip on the Avon and one usually on the Wye).

The course finishes with a celebration evening and prize giving at a local restaurant.

On completion of the course you will get the BCU 1 Star award, and the prestigious Bath Canoe Club ITP certificate (even Team GB Olympians don't have this award)!

You will be expected to arrive at the clubhouse by 6.00 pm in order to be on the water by 6.30 pm.  Each training session finishes by 8.30 pm.
