This Trip is only suited to those who are full confident on grade 3, 4 & 5, must have a solid white water roll. This will most likely be a peer lead trip rather than a official Bath Canoe Club Trip, but please register so I can start making plans.

If you are in any doubt weather this trip is suitable for you, please feel free to message me. But if you can paddle the Upper dart easily, this is a perfect trip for you.

Obviously if any spectators want to join us, you are welcome. Scotland has some great walks available.

Wet West PaddleFest

Is an annual paddle festival in the West Highlands of Scotland. The festival is run across a number of Dam released river (So they will be very cold), and offer a chance to kick of the 2014 winter paddling season with a bang.

Last year they ran the Moriston and Garry, but this may change for 2014

The Plan (Transport)

With close to 500miles to drive to Scotland (Around 8 hrs), I am recommending leaving early Friday morning, allowing plenty of time to arrive and get set up at a B&B or bunk house.

Saturday and Sunday will consist of lots of crazy paddling, plus plenty of socializing. We will then aim to start the southward migration of Monday morning.

I estimate it will cost around £140-180 in fuel per car,  so divided 4 ways, it should cost around £35-50 each.

Accommodation

Camping in Scotland in September, is likely to be cold, so I propose the something more luxurious such as a B&B or Bunk house.

Bunk house will cost around £15 per night (Total of £45 per person)
B&B's start from around £120 for the weekend based on 1 person for 3 nights (£40 per night)

Once we have rough numbers, I am happy to organise shared accommodation, but this will need to be paid for in full in advance. If you have to drop out at the last minute, and can not find someone to take your space, you are likely to loose your money. (Sorry, but I have been burnt by people letting me down in the past!)
