The Teifi Tour 2014

The Teifi Tour is an annual congregation of paddlers from across the UK on to the River Teifi is South-East Wales.
The event is run and managed by Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Club, who run Shuttle buses, Camping, and lifeguard cover along the river.

The cost for this event is £10 per person, and covers you for both days. This will need to be paid directly Llandysul Paddlers Canoe Club.

The event has a two day itinerary, covering a total of six sections of the Teifi (3 each day). The itinary can be seen on the Llandysul Paddlers website.

Accommodation

Camping is included as part of the £10 Tour ticket, but October can be a Chilly month for camping. There may be dorms and B&B's available, but these are likely to get booked up months in advance.
It will be down to each paddler to find their own accommodation.

Transport

We will most likely aim to leave either late Friday night, or early Saturday morning. Its about 140 miles, so we need to allow 3hrs. In total it will be 300+ Mile round trip. (£40-70 fuel per car).
I will try an arrange car shares for everybody, so please sign up and fill in you boat carrying spaces.

Experience level

As I said before, the river varies from grade 2 to 4+, so previous white water experience will be required. Although river bank safety will be available from the local canoe club, each group will need to be self proficient and able to look after each itself, and deal with rescues and problems on the water.

I will limit the numbers of club members who attend, to ensure we have a good ratio of experienced paddlers and river leaders to less experienced paddlers.

This trip is ideal for those who have run the Dart loop, Tawe, or simular grade 3 rivers. But if you are in any doubt, please message me. newsletter@bathcanoeclub.co.uk

See you on the Water,
