Trip: WYE Camping Weekend

You must register if you intend to come

Open to anyone who has passed ITP.  If under 18 you must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the whole trip including on the water.

This is a PEER PADDLE (see Trip Types ). You will be expected to take responsibility for your own kit and general safety.

Places are not limited but BCC only has so many boats:

Intention is to leave BCC Friday afternoon and stay over Friday and Saturday night 28th & 29th. Returning Sunday evening. Sat & Sun will be paddling days.

 

 General plan to cover about anything from 10, 15, 20 miles each day down the wye (Sat & Sun).

 

Day trips: it is near enough to do as a day trip from Bath if you don't wish to stay over/ want to do just do one day.

Camping:
The Camp site is Burhope Farm. The campsite has plenty of tent space, good showers and close to the Brecon Beacons National Park for those who like a walk etc. http://www.burhopefarmcampsite.co.uk/

Ian will do a group booking for anyone who has sent him a £10 non-refundable deposit by Friday 14 June. Email him for address to send cheques to (see above). After that you will need to make your own arrangements.

The Camp site is central a few miles from Ross on Wye with Monmouth and Hereford in easy reach.

Transport

For environmental and economic reasons we should car share as much as possible. Cars with roof racks will be much in demand for transport there/back and shuttles. Please let Ian know if you can carry canoes/kayaks.

Cost

We do not intend to hire a guide so main costs will be transport and accommodation plus food & drinks.
