SEA TRIP: Camping Weekend

You must register if you intend to come

Open to anyone who has passed ITP. No previous sea experience necessary. If under 18 you must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the whole trip including on the water.

This trip will be organised by BCC members and there will be some 3* paddlers from BCC present who are willing to lead a small group of less experienced paddlers on the water for at least some of the time. There will also be some 3* peer paddling. You will be expected to take responsibility for your own kit and general safety.

Accommodation:  a few of us are booked into Briarhill Farm campsite in Newton Ferres village, which we will use as a base. You will need to book direct with them (phone 01752 872 252 or info@briarhillfarm.co.uk )or  make other arrangements (B&B etc). Arrive Friday evening to be ready for Saturday morning. Paddle Saturday and Sunday, depart Sunday early evening. Possibility of extending to Friday/Monday if weather looks good.

Transport

For environmental and economic reasons we should car share as much as possible. However with sea kayaks only 2 per car is recommended. Fuel cost usually around £30-£50 per car + parking. Actual cost between you and driver/passenger.

Cost

We do not intend to hire a guide so main costs will be transport and accommodation plus food & drinks. Briarhill Farm campsite is £14 for 1 or 2 people/ tent per night.
