The wind has not abated as I had hoped and is currently top of F3 gusting F5 and offshore. The tides were always going to be challenging with springs against us. Therefore we'll be going to POOLE HARBOUR.
New Location is: grid SY 98347 90466, BH15 4LR. This is just west of the Hamworth Marina and located off a small road off Lake Drive, you'll see Lake Pier shown on Google Maps. There is a car park and is where Poole Canoe Club are based. There are no cafe facilities there and there may also be none for our lunch stop.
The plan will be to cross Wareham Channel and head south down Wych Channel keeping Arne to the west and sheltering us from the wind. HW is about 12:00 but by 15:00 the ebb should be reducing - tides in the harbour are a bit tricky but you can't really come to grief (famous last words).
