Easter Monday

Ease yourself back into sea kayaking for the coming spring / summer, or  join us for your first trip (you must have completed 2* ).

This trip is aimed at those who haven't paddled over the winter and want to get their sea-legs again and those with little or no sea experience. We will take it easy, find time to practice some basic strokes and generally get used to being in our boats on the sea again.

We will have lunch on a beach somewhere (bring packed lunch and flask) and maybe spoil ourselves with tea & cake on our return.

Meet at seafront carpark (next to Monmouth beach) at 10:30. (You may wish to meet first at BCC to share lifts ). DT 73 LD should get you to Holmbush carpark at SY 334 921. Carry on past this a short distance and down to the carparks on the right by the sea. (If it's too crowded or expensive here we can drop boats and park at Holmbush, but why walk if you don't need to).

Now we just need some calm weather !

If the weather is not favourable at this location we will attempt to relocate to somewhere that is so we can still run a trip.

You must satisfy yourself that this trip is suitable for you, that you are sufficiently experienced, able and willing to paddle at the advertised level. For detailed guidance, see trip categoristion. If in doubt, seek guidance from the advertised leader before registering.

You must register if you intend to come. Places are restricted in an effort to maintain an acceptable experience ratio amongst participants. If it's full, contact the trip leader to see whether any more places can be made available.

If you change your mind, that's okay! But please contact the trips officer as soon as you know so that someone else can register in your place.

You must bring suitable equipment or make arrangements for someone to bring it for you (eg. kayak). See what to bring.

You are advised to book a club boat, if you need one, by contacting the quartermaster(s).
