British Canoeing 3 Star White Water Assessment, for those who've already received training, got the required experience and believe they are ready for assessment.

3 Star White Water syllabus

Location to be Symonds Yat, Ross-on-Wye

Cost for club members only - £22.50.

Excluding the cost of the Certificate.

3 Star certificates are issued to successful candidate by British Canoeing following a recommendation from the assessor, subject to the following additional certification fees:

  • £12 for members
  • £25 for non-members
We require a minimum of 2 candidates in order to be able to run the assessment. If it's cancelled for this or any other reason, we'll refund the registration fee.

About a 1 1/4 hour drive from Bath.


You must satisfy yourself that this assessment is suitable for you, that you are sufficiently experienced, able and willing to paddle at the assessment level.


You must register if you intend to come. Places are restricted in an effort to maintain an acceptable experience ratio amongst participants.


If you change your mind, that's okay! But please contact the Training Officer as soon as you know so that someone else can register in your place.


You must bring suitable equipment or make arrangements for someone to bring it for you (eg. kayak).

You are advised to book a club boat, if you need one, by contacting the quartermaster(s).
