Introduction to paddlesports (ITP) - Schedule 1

On completion of the course, trainees get the British Canoe Union (BCU) 1 Star award, and the prestigious Bath Canoe Club ITP certificate!

Course schedule:

1. Swimming pool session at Kingswood School to practice capsize drills - Monday 9 May at 8.30 pm.
2. River sessions every Thursday, 12 May to 30 Jun at 6.00 pm.
3. River trip from Winsley Bridge to Bath - Sunday 10 Jul at 9.00 am.
4. Presentation evening at a local restaurant - TBC

For the river sessions, you will be expected to arrive at the clubhouse by 6.00 pm in order to be on the water by 6.30 pm. The sessions will finish at about 8.30 pm.

It is most useful but not essential to do the pool session before any of the river sessions. If you wish to do this course but are unable to come to the scheduled pool session you will be welcome to attend any subsequent pool session(s).

 

It is a prerequisite of participating in this course that you are a member of Bath Canoe Club. After you have registered for the course (or before if you wish), please could you register for membership and pay the membership fee so that we have your contact details in our database. We will date your membership from the beginning of the course but you would be welcome to attend pool sessions before that date.
