3rd Jan 2016 post new year white water paddle. Blah blah something about a river but still depends on rain etc. We'll aim for something grade 3ish. Meet at the club to leave by 08.00 - blimey the days are starting to get longer, well there could be more daylight and we like to have a 50% safety margin on the water.
On average it's about a 2:15 drive. Often with longer shuttles run on a very narrow tractor filled roads. We probably won't be home much before 19:00.
Please register if you intend to come, it has car details and if driving how many boats you can carry, plus emergency contact details that make it a little easier for the organisers.
What to bring - the usual stuff but not forgetting- Warm paddling kit, it could be cold? A hot drink could be a must have - an unbreakable flask (attached) in the back of your boat. Food - high energy food is best (flapjacks/Mars bars/banana etc. are good) Dry warm clothes to get changed into post paddle.
A home made stick of rock for the organiser.
Transport We share the cost of the fuel (220+ miles so could be around £30-£50 per car). If Wales we'll have the £6.50 toll to pay. Organiser Jon
