20th Dec post party white water paddle. We'll aim for something G3ish. Hopefully it will be the Tawe but depends on rain etc. Meet at the club to leave by 08.00 - as we losing daylight and we like to have a 50% safety margin on the water.
If we paddle the Tawe it is around 1 h 50 min and 94.5 miles but on average it's about a 2:15 drive. Often with longer shuttles run on a very narrow tractor filled roads. We may not be home much before 19:00 after putting kit away etc.
Please register if you intend to come, it has car details and if driving how many boats you can carry, plus emergency contact details that make it a little easier for the organisers.
What to bring - the usual stuff but not forgetting- Warm paddling kit, it could be cold? A hot drink could be a must have - an unbreakable flask (attached) in the back of your boat. Food - high energy food is best (flapjacks/Mars bars/banana etc. are good) Dry warm clothes to get changed into post paddle.
A home made stick of rock for the organiser.
Transport We share the cost of the fuel (220+ miles so could be around £30-£50 per car). If Wales we'll have the £6.50 toll to pay. Organiser Jon
