Leader: Organised by UKSGS (not BCC)
 Trip level:
Intermediate and Advanced

This is an event organised and run by UK Storm Gathering Symposiums. It's run annually in different places around Britain and Ireland. This year it's at Anglesey.

UK SGS events invite paddlers to embrace the elements in potentially challenging conditions so we can further our understanding of sea kayaking through coach-led workshops, presentations and guided journeys.

Attendance is open to anyone with intermediate sea kayaking skills or above looking for fresh challenges. The ability to wrestle a walrus, paddle around a continent and eat seaguls is not necessary.

Full details and registration can be found on the UKSG Symposium website. If you register here (on the BCC site) too, we can see who's planning to go and arrange to share transport, but note that we're not actually booking the symposium - you must do that on their website using the link above.

You must satisfy yourself that this trip is suitable for you, that you are sufficiently experienced, able and willing to paddle at the advertised level. For detailed guidance, see trip categoristion. If in doubt, seek guidance from the advertised leader before registering.

You must register if you intend to come. Places are restricted in an effort to maintain an acceptable experience ratio amongst participants. If it's full, contact the trip leader to see whether any more places can be made available.

If you change your mind, that's okay! But please contact the trips officer as soon as you know so that someone else can register in your place.

You must bring suitable equipment or make arrangements for someone to bring it for you (eg. kayak). See what to bring.

You are advised to book a club boat, if you need one, by contacting the quartermaster(s).
