Mumbles offers a wide range of paddling conditions in a pleasant environment less than a couple of hours from Bath. Although it's in the Bristol Channel, it's sufficiently far along and on the right side that the water is not obviously silty and it feels like the sea proper.
The launch into Swansea bay is well sheltered and near to a public car park. There's a relatively fast tidal stream exiting the bay around the lighthouse island(s) where bumpy water may be encountered and this can be a good spot in which to practice boat handling skills. Lunch is likely to be on a beach with a surf landing. Oxwich Point has a moderate tidal stream and bumpy water, mostly off-shore.

You must register if you intend to come. Places are restricted in an effort to maintain an acceptable experience ratio amongst participants. If it's full, contact the trip leader to see whether any more places can be made available.
